Following the participation in the 19th International Scientific and Professional Conference “Crisis Management Days – CMD 2026,” where Research Assistant Lea Fabić presented the paper entitled “Security at the Margins: How Small EU and NATO Member States Navigate Geostrategic Turbulence,” the paper has been published in the conference proceedings. The paper was co-authored with Sandro Knezović, PhD.
The paper examines the key challenges faced by small EU and NATO member states in today’s international security environment, characterised by geopolitical tensions and shifts in global power relations. Particular attention is given to how small states, despite their limited material capabilities, manage to safeguard and advance their national interests while maintaining an active role within Euro-Atlantic security structures.
