Damir Demonja, Ph.D., Scientific advisor with tenure, was appointed a member of the Scientific Council for Tourism and Space of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) for a mandate of four years, from 2024 to 2028. This is Dr. Demonja’s second consecutive mandate in that Council. The task of this Academy’s council is to encourage, organize, coordinate and assist scientific and professional research in scientific fields related to tourism and space. The Scientific Council for Tourism and Space brings together scientific and professional institutions, including Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), as well as prominent scientists and experts in fields of their activity. The Council has 64 members, it is chaired by the president, who has two deputies and a secretary, as well as a head of administration.
