The Department for International Economic and Political Relations implements the International Relations – Determinants of Resilient Sustainable Development (MO4R) project. This project is funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 over four years, from 2024 to 2027. Researchers focus on identifying and analyzing security, economic, political, cultural, and other social processes needed to achieve sustainable development and enhance the resilience of the Republic of Croatia in both regional and international contexts. The primary research areas include:

  • stability and security (UN Sustainable Development Goals 9, 11, 16 and 17)
  • competitiveness and innovation (Goals 8, 9, 11 and 12)
  • global challenges and international context (Goals 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 16 and 17).

Additionally, the project addresses issues related to relevant cultural, economic, social and natural resources and their utilization (Goals 3, 4, 5, 11, and 1).

The Center for Migration Studies (CEMIS) is also a part of this project.

The research facilitates the identification of relevant social and economic processes, as well as the formulation of necessary policies and measures to enhance resilience and sustainability.

Besides scientific research, project activities encompass the dissemination and expansion of knowledge, and the popularization of science.
