In the period from 19 to 23 June, the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation, organized the 24th Šipan Summer School titled “Trends of Increased Defense Spending and the Future of European Security” in Dubrovnik.

As always, the Summer School focused on current geopolitical topics such as the future of transatlantic relations, the role of the European Union in the emerging circumstances, and the strategic importance of the Atlantic. Representing IRMO at the Summer School, Dr. Sandro Knezović, Research Advisor, delivered a lecture titled “European Union’s Strategic Posture in a Competitive World – Rethinking the Common Security and Defence Policy in the Age of Global Rivalry.”

At the Summer School, Dr. Sandro Knezović also presented the Glossary of the European Union’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), which systematically and clearly explains the key concepts, processes, and instruments of the CSDP. The Glossary will be of significant benefit to young researchers, students, and experts working on European security and defence issues, who also represented the target group of the 24th edition of the Šipan Summer School.
