Jul 17, 2024 | Other (Articles, studies and report), Publications

In the new issue of IRMO aktualno, the authors, Damir Demonja, Ph.D. and Vladimir Stojanović, Ph.D., Professor, briefly present the valuable, diverse and numerous tangible and intangible heritage of the Šokac Croats from Bačka. The material heritage of the Šokac Croats is most visible in the concept of ethno-houses, and the intangible heritage in the way of life and customs, especially in folklore. Both types of heritage are presented and explained in details. The authors refer to the need for systematic scientific and professional treatment of this heritage, as well as its greater visibility in the public, so  the public is informed about important life, cultural, and identity segments of the Croat community in  places like Vojvodina, but also elsewhere  abroad.
