Intersectionality and Inclusive Feminist Politics as Themes of a Seminar and Conference on Women’s Rights

Dr. Emina Bužinkić participated in the international seminar “Advancing Women’s Rights in a Changing World” and the international scholarly conferenceFuture of Women’s Rights: Marking the Anniversaries of CEDAW and the Istanbul Convention. The seminar and conference were held at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik from March 29 to April 3, 2026, bringing together renowned scholars, politicians, practitioners, and advocates of women’s rights.

Both events were organized by the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Antonija Petričušić, within the framework of the project “Norms, Institutions, National and International Frameworks for the Protection of Women’s Rights – NINA.”

Dr. Emina Bužinkić participated as a lecturer and co-facilitator of a seminar on intersectionality together with Dr. Antonija Petričušić, and also presented a paper in progress “Racialized, minoritized, and unassimilable feminist horizons” at the conference’s final panel titled “Beyond Liberal Feminism: Intersectional, Postcolonial, and Structural Perspectives on Women’s Rights.”
