As part of the recently established Center for Migration Studies at the Institute for Development and International Relations, a research forum titled “Documenting the Educational Experiences of Refugees and Migrants: Research Practices and Migrant Advocacy” was held. The research forum was organized in collaboration with the Center for Peace Studies and as part of the ENDURE project – Inequalities, Community Resilience, and New Modalities of Governance in a Post-Pandemic World, which is financially supported by the Croatian Science Foundation.
Three recent studies were presented at the forum: “Aftershocks in the Education of Young Refugees from Southeast Asia and North Africa in the Context of Multiple Pandemics” by Dr. Emina Bužinkić; “Shadow Report on the Implementation of Integration Measures: Access to Higher Education and Status Issues” by the Coordinating Committee for Human Rights, presented by Lucija Mulalić and Abdoulie Jobe; and “Educational Experiences of Refugees from Primary Education to Higher Education” by Dr. Dinka Čorkalo Biruški and Dr. Margareta Jelić. The forum concluded with a discussion on the future directions of research on the educational experiences of refugees and migrants, focusing on thematic priorities and the collaboration between the academic community and non-governmental organizations.
