Nevenka Čučković, PhD

Nevenka Čučković, PhD is a senior research adviser with tenure at the Department for International Economic and Political Relations. She is a research associate of the MO4R project within the thematic component of competitiveness and innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in economics (1998) from the University of Zagreb and an M.Phil. in international economics from the same university. She has been a team leader, researcher, and consultant on several international research projects financed by international grants: OECD, World Bank, EBRD and EU competitive research programs such as FP6. FP7, Horizon 2020. In addition, she served as an evaluator of research proposals within FP7, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe framework programs. From 2007 to 2013, she headed a long-term research project  “International Aspects of Competitiveness, Restructuring and Entrepreneurship in Croatia”,  financed by the Croatain Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

Her research interests are directed to international determinants of sustainable, resilient and competitive enterprise sector, particularly through SME development, new technologies and innovation, labour skills, economic and institutional convergence and upgrading participation in global value chains. Her work was published in indexed scholarly journals as well as in books both in Croatia and abroad.

She is a member of many professional associations at home and abroad. She has served as an expert member of the Program Committee for Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities in the EU Framework Programmes FP7 (2007-2013) and FP6 (2006) in Brussels. From 2013 to 2017 she was a member of the National Scientific Council for Social Sciences of Croatia. She also served as a President of IRMO Academic Council from 2000 to 2005, and as a member of the IRMO Executive Board from 2000 to 2002. Besides Croatian, she is fluent in English and speaks both German and Russian.
