IRMO’s research presented at CEEISA-ISA 2024

CEEISA and ISA held a joint international conference title “Knowing the global-local: Imagining pasts, debating futures”. The conference took part in Rijeka from June 18 to 21 gathering more than 750 scholars. IRMO’s scholar Dr. Senada Šelo Šabić chaired a session “Seeking epistemic justice – the politics of defiance of the silenced voices across Global Souths and Easts off and within European geographies”. The sessions gathered research produced through the ENDURE project – Inequalities, Community Resilience, and New Modalities of Governance in a Post-Pandemic World, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. 

Dr. Soner Barthoma of the Free University Berlin and Dr. Susan Rotmann of Ozyegin University presented joint research titled “The contested politics of waiting, contested belonging(s) and negotiated spaces: precarious lives and resilience of migrant workers in Istanbul in times of entangled crises”. Dr. Anna Cichecka of the University of Wroclaw presented “The Women’s Strike in Poland: A Marginalised Voice Resisting Government Policies amid the pandemics”, and Dr. Emina Bužinkić presented collaborative research with Dr. Šelo Šabić titled “The politics of (de)mobilization amid multiple pandemics.
