Damir Demonja, PhD
Damir Demonja, PhD graduated in Philosophy and History of Art (1993) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, where he also earned his master’s degree (1996) and PhD (2001). He worked at the Institute of Art History (IPU) in Zagreb and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia. Since 2006 he has been working at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), now as Senior Research Adviser in tenure. He is implementing the MO4R project component related to local cultural resources and their use.
Dr. Demonja is the author of 200 scientific and professional works, six scientific books, and one editorial. He is a member of the scientific and organizing committees/councils of international scientific conferences, a scientific reviewer in international, Croatian interdisciplinary scientific journals, and, from September 2019, a member of the Scientific Council for Tourism and Space of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU). Since 2024, he has been a member of the Scientific field committees for interdisciplinary scientific fields – various scientific fields of the National Council for Higher Education, Science and Technological Development. He is also the leader and coordinator of international cooperation with faculties and institutes.
