The results of the research implemented by Damir Demonja Svjetlana Kočinović, Mario Kovač and Branko Banković were published as a preliminary communication: Creativity in the Service of Inclusion: Examples of Croatian Good Practice in the Performing Arts.
The paper shows use of performing arts in educational and rehabilitation practice, for inclusion and empowering people with intellectual disabilities in the field of self-awareness development and self-advocacy, and in encouraging artists to collaborate with people with intellectual disabilities. The paper contributes to the redirection of these activities from the field of social welfare and occasional social projects of individuals and non-governmental organizations to those of art and culture. This is important for understanding, accepting, supporting and implementing the principles of inclusion in the daily lives of persons with intellectual disabilities and all those associated with them in interaction in any way and to any extent and intensity.
