IRMO aktualno “Climate foreign policy: How small countries can drive global change”

In the new issue of IRMO, Ana-Maria Boromisa, Ph.D. Senada Šelo Šabić, Ph.D. and Leona Knežević Mužić indicate the importance of small countries in climate negotiations. They outline the current situation and show that the efforts of the European Union countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are not enough. It is necessary to encourage global change based on cooperation, where small countries have more experience because they cannot negotiate from a position of power. Therefore, small countries could take the lead in climate negotiations and adopt strong policy measures. Highlighting the gap between goals and implementation, the authors identify the need for more ambitious national strategies and increased cooperation within the EU. Finally, the potential benefits for the Republic of Croatia from the implementation of climate foreign policy.
